We want to make sure everyone is aware of the rules and steps for removing any trees on your property — whether they’re healthy or dead. In addition to the long-standing HOA rules, Medford Township ordinance now also requires a permit for any tree removal.
Here’s what you need to do before cutting or removing a tree:
- Fill out the CPC Tree Removal Application and send it to the CPC Rules & Property Committee (RPC).
- Once approved, you’ll receive a completed Township HOA Courtesy Notice from the RPC.
- You’ll need this signed form to apply for the required Township tree removal permit.
- After the Township issues your permit, please keep a copy available in case the RPC asks to confirm it.
If you notice tree work happening nearby and aren’t sure it’s been approved, you can check in by emailing rpc@centenniallake.
Important reminders:
- The Township may fine up to $600 per tree if a permit hasn’t been issued.
- The RPC will do a quick follow-up visit after the work is done to make sure everything matches what was approved.
Why this matters:
Our goal isn’t to make things harder — it’s to keep Centennial the beautiful, wooded community that drew us all here in the first place. The tree permit process helps protect property values, safety, and the look of our neighborhood while keeping us all in compliance with our covenants and restrictions, as well as the Township ordinance.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and care for our community. If you ever have questions about tree work or the process, please reach out. We’re here to help, not hinder.
